Grilled Honey-Mustard Pork Tenderloin Recipe

What You Will Need

  • 2 pounds of pork tenderloin
  • 3 tablespoon of country-Dijon mustard
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon of kosher salt
  • 1 and a half teaspoons of ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup of chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup of red wine vinegar
  • 1/4  cup of olive oil
  • 1/4 cup of honey

Step 1: Clean The Pork Tenderloin

If you have bought a frozen pork tenderloin, then you should leave it in the fridge overnight.

That way, it will slowly defrost while also preventing other contaminants from getting into the meat.

If you really need to cook the frozen pork tenderloin right away, then you can put it on the sink and open the faucet lightly to let cold water drizzle over it and thaw it faster for you to cook it.

Once it is thawed, get a knife and then place the pork tenderloin on a cutting board.

Cut the silver skin and pull it off with a paper towel, the silver skin is a membrane that does not help.

Trim off some of the fat but leave a thin layer of about 1/4 of an inch to make sure that the pork tenderloin stays juicy when it is cooked.

Wash the tenderloin and dry with paper towels.

Step 2: Create The Marinade

In a large bowl, mix the parsley, kosher salt, pepper, garlic, red wine vinegar, olive oil, honey, and the country-Dijon mustard altogether, and then whisk the mixture thoroughly.

Make sure that all the dry ingredients are mixed well with the wet ingredients and the spices are distributed evenly.

Place the marinade in a zip lock bag or a large shallow dish.

The shallow dish or the zip lock that you use should be large enough to fit the pork tenderloin in it.

Personally, I prefer the zip lock bag option as it makes sure the tenderloin is covered.

Step 3: Marinate The Pork Tenderloin

Place the pork tenderloin in the zip lock bag and then seal it close.

Use your hands to massage the bag and make sure that the marinade goes in deeper than the surface of the tenderloin.

Place the marinated pork tenderloin in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

You can also let it marinate for up to 8 hours but do not go beyond that as it might affect the firmness of the meat.

Once you are ready to cook, bring out the pork tenderloin and discard the marinade.

Rinse the pork tenderloin lightly and then pat it dry with paper towels before you season it again.

Step 4: Preheat The Grill

Set the grill temperature to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and then close the grill lid.

This will make sure that the interior of the grill will stay hot and the heat is evenly distributed throughout.

If you are using a charcoal grill, you can use a few wood chips to add to the firebox to get some smoky flavors when you cook.

Make sure the grill preheats properly with the lid closed.

Step 5: Grill The Pork Tenderloin

Once the grill reaches the set temperature, place the pork tenderloin directly on the grill grates.
Close the grill lid and then let the pork tenderloin cook, occasionally turning it over.

Allow at least 8 minutes for each side of the pork tenderloin to cook.

Turn it over every 10 minutes or so and then place a meat probe into the thickest part of the pork tenderloin.

Once the meat probe reads 150 degrees Fahrenheit, the pork tenderloin is now ready.

Allow it to rest for at least 10 minutes before you slice into it and serve it!

Baked Honey-Mustard Pork Tenderloin Recipe

What You Will Need

  • 2 pounds of pork tenderloin
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons of orange juice
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons of dried rosemary
  • Ground black pepper to taste

Step 1: Clean The Pork Tenderloin

Defrost the pork tenderloin if you have bought a frozen one or if you went with the packaged pork tenderloin.

Defrost it by leaving it in the refrigerator overnight to prevent contamination.

You can also speed up the process by leaving the pork tenderloin in the sink and allow cold water to drip over it.

Once it is thawed, trim the fats off of the pork tenderloin but leave a thin layer.

Remove the silver skin on the pork tenderloin using a sharp and flexible knife and paper towels to hold the slippery membrane.

Wash the tenderloin with cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.

Step 2: Make The Honey-Mustard Sauce

In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, olive oil, orange juice, honey, dijon mustard, garlic, rosemary, and pepper.

Whisk the ingredients together and make sure that they are evenly mixed.

Get your sharp knife and then make cuts on the surface of the pork tenderloin.

Slit the surface of the meat and make about 6-8 cuts on each pork tenderloin before pouring the sauce.

Use a baking tray to place the pork tenderloin properly and then pour the sauce all over the tenderloin.

You can then prepare the tools that you will need when cooking later on.

Step 3: Preheat The Oven

While you let the pork tenderloin sit on the sauce to allow the flavors to get into the meat, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and then leave it until it reaches that temperature.

Step 4: Bake The Pork Tenderloin

Place the pork tenderloin along with the sauce inside the oven and let it cook for 40 to 50 minutes.

This will let the convection heat cook the tenderloin properly on the inside.

Spoon the sauce and then glaze it on top of the pork tenderloin every 10 minutes.

This will create a delicious glaze on top of the pork tenderloin and let it become moister.

Insert a meat probe into the thickest part of the pork tenderloin.

Once the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit, you can then remove the pork tenderloin from the oven.

Let the pork tenderloin rest for up to 15 minutes before you slice it and serve it!
