Grilled Pork Tenderloin With Balsamic Honey Glaze
What You Will Need
- 3-pound tenderloin
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 teaspoons of paprika
- 2 teaspoons of chili powder
- 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
Step 1: Prepare The Pork Tenderloin
Start the process by removing excess fats from the pork tenderloin.
You should, however, leave some fats on the meat so that it does not dry out while it cooks on the grill.
If the pork tenderloin is frozen, make sure that you leave it in the refrigerator overnight to thaw it properly.
You can also leave it in the sink while you slowly drip cold water from the faucet.
Step 2: Apply The Rub
Mix the garlic, onion, and chili powders in a bowl and then season it with paprika and salt.
Rub the mixture all over the pork tenderloin and then leave it to rest at room temperature.
Use your hands to massage the rub into the meat.
The seasonings should not just sit on the outer part of the pork tenderloin as you will need them to go deeper into the meat for more flavors.
Step 3: The Initial Sear
Heat a cast-iron skillet on the stove over medium heat.
Once it starts to produce smoke, drizzle a small amount of olive oil on the skillet and then place the pork tenderloin in the center.
Sear until the outer crust of the pork tenderloin becomes golden.
You can achieve this by searing each side for two minutes as you do not need to necessarily cook it all the way through.
Step 4: Preheat The Grill
For this step, I recommend using a charcoal grill to get that authentic flavor.
While the charcoals start to produce embers, you can also put a few wood chips on top to get a smoky flavor.
Preheat your grill between 375 degrees and 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Close the grill lid to make sure that the heat is even and the grill’s interior does not have cold spots.
Step 5: Grill The Pork Tenderloin
After searing the pork tenderloin from the cast-iron skillet, wrap it in aluminum foil while you wait for the grill to preheat.
Once the grill reaches the set temperature, place the tenderloin on the grill.
Leave the pork tenderloin in the aluminum foil cover and place it directly on the grill.
Grill the pork tenderloin for a total of 20 minutes, flipping it over only once at the halfway point.
Step 6: Prepare The Glaze
While waiting for the pork tenderloin to finish cooking, prepare the glaze.
Mix the balsamic vinegar, honey, and mustard with the olive oil in a bowl and mix evenly.
Unwrap the pork tenderloin from the aluminum foil and then generously brush the glaze on the tenderloin.
Make sure the glaze gets into all sides of the tenderloin before putting it back on the grill.
Insert a meat probe into the thickest part of the pork tenderloin and continue grilling it occasionally brushing more glaze until it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
Let the pork tenderloin rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving!
Honey-glazed Pork Loin Roast
What You Will Need
- 3-pound Pork Tenderloin
- 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- 1/3 cup of honey
Step 1: Prepare The Pork Tenderloin
Thaw the pork tenderloin by leaving it in the refrigerator overnight.
You can also leave the pork tenderloin on the sink and allow it to thaw naturally by running slow cold water over the loin.
Trim the fats off using a sharp knife but leave a thin layer of fats to keep the meat juicy and tender later when it is cooked.
Step 2: Prepare The Seasonings
Mix the honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and balsamic vinegar in a bowl. Make sure that the mixture has an even consistency and that the flavors spread evenly.
Step 3: Roast The Pork Tenderloin
You can season the pork tenderloin with a simple salt and pepper combo or roast it as it is.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and then place the pork tenderloin inside to roast for 15 minutes.
Step 4: Baste And Finish Cooking
Remove the pork from the oven and then apply the honey sauce to the pork tenderloin.
Adjust the temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and then cook the tenderloin again.
Continue roasting the pork tenderloin in the oven for another 45 minutes occasionally basting the honey sauce on the tenderloin.
Insert a meat probe into the thickest part of the tenderloin.
Step 5: Rest And Serve
Once the pork tenderloin reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit, remove it from the oven.
Let it rest for 15 minutes and then slice before serving!

Step 2: Prepare The Seasonings
