Bring some heat and convenience to your next tailgating trip or your backyard barbecue with the Coleman NXT 200 portable grill Review. This grill will help you make the best foods for your family.
For someone who loves grilling, this model will get you to cook in a fun environment and a convenient one as well. It is a portable grill that you can set up anywhere you want to cook.
With a thin structure, this grill will also fit in a small storage space, so you do not have to worry about it when not in use. You can also bring it in your car or truck for camping and tailgating.
It is perfect for your barbecue and other recipes as it is hot enough and powerful to cook almost anything on it. You do not have to bring so many tools with you as it has some accessories too.
While it is portable, this grill is also large enough to cook a lot of food. You do not need to cook multiple times on this grill, even if you have many people to feed during an event.
Align with those already mentioned are a lot more features that you need to take a look at. This grill will have you cooking almost any food without the hassle of switching to other appliances.
What I Liked About The Coleman NXT 200 Portable Grill
There are so many things to love with this portable grill. The features are amazing, especially if you take a first look at the grill, as it may seem like it cannot fit all those features in the grill.
However, there are many features that you need to take a look at with this grill. We will go by them one by one to ensure that you get all the details that you need to know about this grill.
First, let us look at the most advertised feature of this grill- is portability. This grill has a large cooking space, but despite that, it does not really weigh much, so you can still carry it around.
The weight of this grill is only a little less than 55 pounds. That means you can carry it from your storage area to the backyard, from the backyard to the truck, or anywhere close enough.
It might take a toll on your back when you carry it too far distances, but all in all, it does not weigh too much. One person could easily transfer this grill from the backyard to the patio.
There are also some added features to the grill that makes it even easier to travel with. It has a long stand that allows you to set it up without the need for an extra table to palace it on.
The stand also comes with heavy-duty and durable wheels. By lifting one side of the grill, you will be able to transport it easily through any terrain and slopes when transferring it.
The shelf or the stand itself also folds easily with only one lock on each leg. Just pull it down, and you will be able to make the grill more compact, so you can lift it onto the back of your truck.
Many accessories come with this grill. You can easily cook without bringing too many tools, especially when you are traveling and you want to cook on the road.
First, there is the side table that is very convenient for preparing the food. You can slice some meat on the side table or prepare other ingredients while cooking your main dish.
The side table also has a handle for carrying the grill with the wheels. So since it is installed properly onto the grill, you can grab the handle and lift the grill while transferring it.
Apart from that, there is also another feature that gets you to cook better. The grill’s lid is locked in place when cooking, so the heat does not escape from the inside and keep it hot.
There is no lock on the lid but what I mean by it is it does not let the heat escape the grill. So you can be sure that the grill will continue cooking at an even and consistent heat.
The lid also has another accessory that will help you cook your food. There is a built-in thermometer right on the lid, which helps you keep track of the temperature inside the gas grill.
There is no need for you to open the lid and check the temperature with another thermometer. It is an accurate thermometer that goes through the lid to measure the grill’s internal temperature.
There is also a cup that catches some of the greasers from the grill. You do not need to go deep into the grill when cleaning it, as the grease can be thrown away from the cup on the side.
Switching The Cooking Styles
You can grill perfectly with this portable grill. However, there are some other cooking styles that you can do without the need to switch from the NXT 200 to another appliance.
You can switch from grilling to stovetop cooking with this grill. Just remove the heat or the flame blocker, and you can cook directly over the fire, use pots or frying pans and saute your food in it.
When cooking with an open fire, the grill is supported by heat core technology, so the temperature stays consistent—no need for you to close the lid with a pot or pan on the grill.
You can even turn this grill into a griddle, but the griddle option sells separately. With these many options, you can cook almost any food you want with a single cooking appliance.
Cooking In The Coleman NXT 200 Portable Grill
The grill grates have porcelain-coated cast-iron grids. This made the cooking experience even better as I was able to cook meat directly on the grill without it sticking to the grates.
This grill is one of the most convenient grills that I have ever used. The scissor leg was an easy addition to the grill that quickly sets it up and takes it down once done cooking with the grill.
The cooking grates are interchangeable, so I can switch my cooking style easily. You need no other things for the setup, as you can cook right away once the gas is attached.
When traveling, you do not need to bring with you large propane gas tanks. This grill was perfectly working with a small 16-ounce cylinder butane gas which was perfect for campings.
There are two burners on this grill that you can independently control by knobs at the front of the grill. That way, I was able to cook different recipes at the same time on one single grill.
You do not need lighters to get this grill started. Just install the gas supply properly and then switch it on with the button on the front, and the burners will automatically ignite for cooking.
This grill can also go with a large propane gas tank such as the 20-pound ones. However, I do not usually use the grill with this option since it needs to have a hose attachment sold separately.
Since this portable grill is made out mainly of stainless steel, there is not much need for maintenance. I would recommend cleaning it thoroughly every time done cooking.
Just wipe the stainless steel parts with a towel to remove the excess grease. There is no need to use soap when cleaning, as the oil will help preserve the stainless steel parts.
The grill grates do need some thorough cleaning, and I suggest cleaning them right after cooking. That way, the food residuals will not harden up and stay there for a long time.
Use a soft-bristled brush and warm water to remove the food residuals. There is also no need for you to use chemicals or soap to clean the grates as they might absorb the smell from them.
The Coleman NXT 200 portable grill lives up to its name and is truly portable. You can bring it wherever you want with the easy assembly and disassembly process for traveling and storing.
With this grill, you will cook any food anywhere you want as it does not need large propane gas tanks to cook. It can last an hour with the smallest gas cylinder available.
So if you love traveling across the country on a road trip and you want something to cook on while on the road, then the NXT 200 is the perfect choice for you.
