Monument Grill Vs. Weber Propane Gas Grill
Weber grills are known for their quality but recently I came across Monument grill and thought I should compare both of them.
That is why there is this Monument grills vs Weber grills comparison to help you choose.
There are a lot of things that you can get with these grills.
Not only can you cook burgers or steaks in them, but you can also make the best-baked goods or other recipes you want to cook.
These companies are known for having the best grills that you can get for a reasonable price.
They have many models of grills that you can choose from, so you will not run out of options.
For this comparison, I have chosen the Monument grills 35633 grill model.
It is a 4-burner grill that can cook at almost any temperature that you like for various recipes.
I went with the closest model from Weber grills called the Genesis-II S-435, also a 4-burner grill.
They do have a lot in common, but there are some significant differences.
So we will be categorizing the features and comparing these two by looking at the differences.
There is not a lot, so we will also be highlighting the similarities that make them great grills.
Setting Up the Grills
With large grills like these two we chose for the comparison, you will need to set them up properly and assemble some parts.
That is especially if you order them and they are shipped.
Storing some things in smaller spaces is better while transporting it.
That is why these large grills can disassemble to ship them in a more compact package.
The monument grill is a pretty easy grill to assemble. It did not take too much time to assemble the parts due to the labeling, and the instructions were really clear and easy to follow.
After properly tightening the screws and the other parts, the outcome was a sturdy grill with durable parts.
Within an hour, the grill was ready to be fired up for the seasoning process.
The Weber grill was also an easy grill to assemble with clear instructions and simple parts.
However, I did need more help in assembling this grill because of the many details in it.
There are two sets of different wheels on this grill that were pretty easy to assemble but are hard to install.
You do need to assemble the shelf at the bottom of the cooking chamber as well.
I needed help carrying the other parts while I assembled the smaller details such as the door of the shelf and the wheels.
Other than that, it was pretty easy to assemble the Weber grill.
I do recommend that you season the grills first after assembling them and before cooking in them.
Make sure to burn off any contaminant that the grills gathered during their transport.
Build Quality And Materials
Both of these grills are made mostly of stainless steel, which makes them very durable.
They can resist the weather outside, so they are perfect even when it is raining to cook your food.
The main cooking chamber of the grills is what separates them. They have different designs, which mean that there are some differences in how they heat up and retain the temperature.
The Weber grill has somewhat rounded edges, which allows the heat to travel inside the cooking chamber more freely.
This makes the grill perfect for even cooking.
The Monument grill was a little sharp on the edges, but there is not much difference in retaining heat.
It perfectly reflects the heat as well, so the interior of the grill is evenly heated.
These grills may look the same in terms of size, but there is a slight difference in the length of the grills mentioned above.
The Monument grill is 54.1 inches long which makes it a pretty large grill.
The Weber grill is 65 inches long so you will need a lot of space to set it on.
This is the perfect grill if you have a large patio or straight in your backyard so you have enough space to move.
Cooking Area
One of the most important features to look for in a grill is the cooking area itself.
It is where you will be cooking the food you want, so it should be decent and easy to use.
These two grills are perfect for large parties as they have a pretty large cooking area.
You can cook multiple steaks and burgers in these grills for a fast and perfectly cooked meal.
The difference between these two grills is that their cooking grates have different materials and different sizes.
This is what mainly separates them from each other.
The Weber grill has a stainless steel rod grate.
This is a good cooking grate as it will help you cook steaks with nice sear marks on them and it will not stick that easily to the grate.
The Monument grill has an even better cooking grate made out of cast iron.
It has a porcelain coating perfect for non-stick cooking and any of your favorite dishes.
The cast-iron cooking grate is also better as it can absorb and redistribute the heat inside the grill.
It has a better cooking capability in terms of putting some sear marks onto your food.
The advantage of the Weber grill is that it has a larger cooking space. It has 844 square inches of cooking space, including the warming rack while the Monument grill has 723 square inches.
Power And Control
Both of these grills are very easy to control, and you will not have to worry about trying to learn how they work.
They are both pretty straightforward which means they are good for beginners.
There are similar knobs on the grills which means that they can be controlled almost the same.
You just turn the burner knobs and set the grill to any temperature you want to get to.
You can individually control the burners, which means setting the grills to a two-zone cooking setting.
You can cook at two different temperatures with a single cooking grate.
The Weber grill can produce up to 69,000 BTUs for its large cooking space.
While this is a bit low, it is enough to cook any food you want and is a decent amount of heat.
What makes the Monument grill better is that it can produce heat that matches its recommended size.
It can put up 72,000 BTUs if you allow it to fully heat up to cook.
These grills also have LED lights on the knob, making them perfect for grilling even at night.
You can still control the heat and set the grill to the right temperature in the dark.
Cooking In Monument vs Weber Grills
The first thing I noticed and liked about both of these grills is the light on the knobs.
They are very helpful, especially when the day starts to fall and you still have a lot to cook on the table.
I did not need to use a flashlight on the controls and another on the grill chamber itself.
These grills are very easy to use no matter what day and how dark the surroundings are.
The difference I noticed between the Weber and Monument grill is the sear mark on the food.
The Monument grill put up a more beautiful finish to the steaks and burgers that I cooked.
I noticed that the Monument grill has a better finish because of the thicker grill grate.
There is also more heat on the grill grate since it absorbs it well and distributes it again in the grill.
I found it helpful that both grills have their electronic ignition button.
There is no need to risk burning myself to start the fire with the grills because of the ignition button.
The temperature gauge on the Monument grill was also great as I could control the temperature pretty easily.
Adjusting the heat needed was a really easy task even for beginners.
Overall, I would choose the Monument grill over the Weber grill.
However, if you want a larger grill, then you should go with the Weber grill as it can cook a lot of food in just one go.
Cleaning And Maintenance
Since these grills are made mostly of stainless steel, they do not need too much cleaning.
You only need to wipe the outer parts with paper towels to remove any excess grease and moisture.
The cooking grates are also safe with soap and water so cleaning them is easy.
You just need to brush off all the food residuals from the grill grates and leave some of the greases.
The grease will help the cooking grates develop a non-stick surface.
From there, you will be able to make a great grill that can cook food and brings no hassle in cleaning it.
Weber vs Momument Grills- The Better grill?
For the most part, I would recommend getting the Monument grill as it is large enough for parties and is powerful enough to cook the food properly and perfectly with its cast-iron grate.
However, there are many advantages to the Weber grill, such as a larger size and a sturdy build.

It can also cook a lot of food so if you need more space, this is the grill for you.
Both have easy controls that you can even use in the dark.
So it comes down to your personal preference on which grill will fit your lifestyle better, either way, they are both reliable grills!
